How to get to Whistler:

Basically there are 4 alternatives as follows:

Car: You can rent a car at the airport and it is a beautiful drive up here ( 3 hrs from the airport to whistler; 2.25 hrs from downtown Vancouver to Whistler) We have private heated underground parking at PowderHorn for two vehicles. Once you are here you will not need a car as nearly everything is within walking distance. However, there are some very nice sights within a 30-45 minute drive from here which would only be accessible by car. It should be noted that during January & February driving can be rather difficult as we live in the mountains.

Train: The train (operated by BC Rail 604-984-5246) leaves North Vancouver at 7:00 AM each morning and arrives at Whistler Creek at 9:35 AM. From the Whistler train station it is a $CDN 15 taxi ride into Whistler. The train costs $CDN 32/person (aged 13-59) and includes breakfast. Linda and I have taken the trip and it is fabulous. Lots of great scenery, and a very relaxing method of getting up here. If you like trains, this is the way to go. The BC Rail web site is http://www.bcrail.com/bcrpass/bcrpsca.htm.

Limo: A 10% discount on Limo service is available exclusively for our guests from Pacifica Limousine. For $CDN 300 (including tax, tip and discount), a seven person stretch limo will pick you up at the airport/hotel and drive you right to your accommodation in Whistler. This is a very civilized way to travel and a great way to start a vacation. Speak to Abbey at pacifica@smartt.com or 800 417-2722 (N.A.) or 604 731-0600

Bus: A bus (operated by Perimeter 604-266-5386) departs the Vancouver airport every hour for its direct route to Whistler. The cost is $CDN 55/person and it takes anywhere from 2.5 to 3.5 hrs to reach the Whistler Loop. From there it is a $5-10 cab ride to your accommodation. Their web site is http://www.perimeterbus.com.

Please Note: When booking for the train, bus or limo, you must reserve and pay in advance with the respective organization.

You will definitely not need a car while you are at here. Whistler is a pedestrian village and the gondola lifts for both Whistler and Blackcomb mountains are within a 5-minute walk. All other amenities are at the doorstep of Bear Lodge. If you want a tour of the area, there is a free ski shuttle bus and public transit close by or you can always call a taxi.
